Professionals who attended today’s CREW GC luncheon today picked up some valuable information from Tony Parrott, executive director of the Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati.
The juicy: the Feds are leaning on MSD to build a $250 million tunnel under Queensgate, about 1.7 miles long. Buried 100-150ย feet below, the tunnel would stretch roughly to the Westernย Hills Viaduct.
The MSD has the resources for a sustainable option that would accomplish much of what the new tunnel would achieve, Parrott added.
On a completely unrelated note ….. The West Side connection:
MSD just scored a $3 million grant to improve the watershed environment around Rapid Run Park, where residents have experienced flooding issues.

CREW GC is proud to have hosted Mr. Parrott. For additional information about the MSD, please visit http://www.msdgc.org; CREW GC is at http://www.crewcincinnati.org.
CREW GC has a wide range of upcoming activities to benefit its members:
-a July 22 Cincinnatiย Reds game outing, co-organized with the local chapter of SMPS;
– a Aug. 5 walking tour of OTR, followed by a happy hour at Neon’s;
– a Sept. 9 Continuing Education Seminar at The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens, followed by a happy hour;
– and don’t forget about the golf outing this Fall at Legendary runย on Oct. 4, co-produced with NAIOP Greater Cincinnati.
For those who missed the meeting, here’s a few minutes with Mr. Parrott:
