BLOCHEADS work on disadvantaged blocks. That’s what they do. And they do it from their own version of The Bloc.
Now there’s four of them. And there’s bound to be a whole lot more, as we keep Believing and Living One Christ (BLOC).
The Bloc just got an extra Ten Grand to help families break the cycle of despair – one student, one family, one neighborhood block at a time.
The struggle got a nice boost from Kelley Financial Group, the Network Office for Northwestern Mutual in Greater Cincinnati, with a $10,000 grant from the Northwestern Mutual Foundation.
Doug Corn is a Financial Rep with Kelley Financial, and a Board member on The Bloc (www.blochead.org). Mr. Corn was honored with a Community Service Award last month, one of 25 nationwide out of 9,000 Northwestern Mutual agents, which provided the funds for BLOC. He can be reached at (513) 366-3646 or doug.corn@nmfn.com.

Based in ChevWaaaaaah, the BLOC is active in a slew of West Side communities such as Price Hill, Cleves, Addyston and North Bend. For info, contact Executive Director Dwight Young at (513) 325-5635 or dwight@blochead.org.
Look for the BLOC Aid Ride 2010 on Oct. 17, a 30-mile bike hike along the Ohio River benefitting BLOC Ministries.
BLOC administers programs to more than 1,500 at-risk middle school and high school students and families every month.
