Federal Prosecutor joins Baker Hostetler: Ben Dusing to lead Cincinnati White Collar Defense Practice – Official Release from BakerLaw.com

NKy. native Ben Dusing, a former Asst. US Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky, is now leading the White Collar Defense and Corporate Investigations practice for Baker Hostetler in Greater Cincinnati and the Midwest.

Baker Hostetler announced the continued expansion of its Cincinnati office with the addition of Benjamin G. Dusing.

Dusing, who was most recently an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky, will be a Partner in the firmโ€™s White Collar Defense and Corporate Investigations practice.

Baker Hostetlerโ€™s White Collar Defense and Corporate Investigations practice is recognized for providing internal investigations services and defense litigation for leading corporations and their senior officers, as well monitorships.

The firmโ€™s notable experience includes the work of Baker Hostetler Partner Irving Picard, the court-appointed trustee under the Securities Investor Protection Act for the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC, and Baker Hostetlerโ€™s work as court-appointed counsel to trustee Picard.

As an Assistant United States Attorney, Dusingโ€™s work for the Department of Justice focused on prosecutions of sophisticated financial and white collar offenses.

Dusing led the U.S. Attorneyโ€™s district-wide Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) review team, charged with reviewing, filtering and pursuing investigative leads provided by financial institutions in accordance with their reporting obligations under the Bank Secrecy Act. He also created and led the Northern Kentucky Financial Crimes Working Group.

Dusing is a seasoned litigator and his notable experience includes four successful RICO prosecutions and convictions. He has first-chaired or co-chaired more than 20 federal criminal jury trials.

Prior to joining the United States Attorneyโ€™s Office, Dusing was an Associate with Baker Hostetler in Cincinnati. Following law school, he held clerkships with the Honorable Eugene E. Siler, Jr. in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, as well as with the Honorable Joseph M. Hood in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
