Ray Mirizzi, Cincinnati State

Raymond Mirizzi is the Director of Facilities at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College in Cincinnati, Ohio.

He is responsible for providing leadership for the overall execution O&M services through five major areas of services with a staff of 40 people for the Main campus, and two satellite campuses totaling over 1.3 million square feet of space.

This includes the high-tech Midwest Culinary Arts ย Institute on the Main campus as well as a fully functioning airport facility on the West campus. His staff is also responsible for providing project management support for an array of capital renewal projects. The college presently serves 11,400 students.

Ray has a diverse knowledge of facilities management with more than 35 years experience. He is an active member ofย APPA (Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers), ย MAPPA (the Midwest APPA chapter), and the PGMS (Professional Grounds Management Society).

Mr. Mirizzi has given numerous presentations on project management and other facilities-related topics. He received an Associate Degree in Ornamental Horticulture, and an Associate Degree in Business Management from Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio.

In June 2009 he received the EFP (Educational Facilities Professional) recognition from APPA and in September 2010 received the CEFP (Certified Educational Facilities Professional Award) which is the senior level certification for higher educational facilities officers.

Several of Rayโ€™s most recent interests have been focused on the development of a comprehensive web-based interactive data program, aligning Cincinnati State as a community leader in energy management practices, and storm water runoff control. T
