[DAYTON, Ohio ~ July 6, 2012] The first tenant to take flight at Air Commerce near the Dayton International Airport, a new, multi-service business hub developed by Industrial Commerce Ltd. of Ohio and IRG of Los Angeles, is SB Specialty Metals LLC, a Dallas-based distributor of steel bar products and specialty metals with a national network of 10 Service Centers.

SB Specialty Metals (SBSM) recently signed a lease for 164,000 square feet at Air Commerce, the former UPS/Emery Freight hub purchased and rebranded last year by the team of Chris Semarjian, owner of Industrial Commerce Ltd. in Cleveland, and his partner, Stu Lichter of Industrial Realty Group (IRG) of Los Angeles. The new SBSM global distribution facility is twice as large as any other SBSM distribution center, and will continue to fuel the company’s growth as a world-class distributor of high-quality steel and specialty metals.

“Our business has grown consistently each month since we started in early 2010, and we continue to expand in our current markets, while exploring our core competency for future espansion and growth,” said Peter Gordon, president and CEO of SB Specialty Metals (www.sbsm.com).

“The new location at the Dayton International Airport will vastly improve our logistics programs, to better service our customer base. We are also planning on using this space to continue down the path of vertical integration, and to add value-added capabilities.”

The new SB Specialty Metals global distribution center should be fully operational by October. Although specifics are being kept confidential, SBSM is making a long-term commitment to Air Commerce.

The SBSM lease marks the opening of Air Commerce to expanded markets, for uses not necessarily tied to aerospace or airport-related businesses.

The Semarjian/Lichter team, as well as Dean Miller with Ohio Realty Advisors, the broker who spearheaded the lease that was signed earlier this month, emphasize the additional opportunities awaiting the market at Air Commerce.

The Miamisburg Service Center will continue to remain open; the new Air Commerce complex will serve as a master distribution center, coordinating all 10 Service Centers nationwide. The company is a leader in the distribution of specialty steel bar products, as well as high-alloy particle metallurgy materials and other specialty metals.
