After leading hisย Redlegs to the 1961 World Series, the Beaumont, Texas native and former Xavier University student enjoyed his best year ever in 1962, setting the club record for most extra-base hits in one season with 92, a record that stands today.

“But, I tell ’em, ‘No, no, no.’
“I played with the Orioles.
“I was very successful with the Orioles, as a team and as an individual.
“But I’m a Cincinnati Red,” Robinson said, “….ย and I enjoyed every bit of it. This is home.”
